Course terms

Plain language, because you should not need a lawyer to read what you bought. Brackish Course is operated by Jules Marsh at Brackish & Co.

Your seat and your account

A seat is for one person. Please do not share your sign-in or pass the materials along to someone who did not enroll. Keep your password to yourself and tell me if you think someone else has it.

Access

The classroom opens once I have received and approved your profile, and I email you when it does. Course materials stay available in your library for as long as your account is open. If I ever have to retire a course, I will give you notice and time to download what you need.

Grading and certificates

Assignments and exams are graded against a published rubric. Certificate tiers require 80 percent to pass. You can retake quizzes and exams until you clear that bar, and you will not see the correct answers until you do, because the retake is the point. Nothing reaches you until I have read it and released it. The self-paced Tidepool tier does not include my review or a certificate.

A certificate from this school is a record that you completed the work here. It is not a license, a permit, or a government credential.

Your own work

Everything you submit must be written by you. Cite anything that is not yours. AI may not write your assignments, and I compare submissions against the writing sample in your profile. If something looks off, I will ask you about it before I decide anything. Work that is not yours does not earn a certificate.

Payment and refunds

Prices are shown at checkout and payment is handled by an outside processor. Refunds and cancellations go through me rather than a self-serve button: email me at jules@brackishco.org, or use the quiet link at the bottom of your dashboard. You have 14 days from the day you buy to ask for a full refund, and if your classroom opens during that time, you get a fresh 14 days from the opening day. Whichever date falls later is the one that counts, so a slow opening on my end never costs you your window. After that the sale is final. If you hit a real hardship, write to me anyway. I would rather work something out than take money from someone who is stuck.

Materials and ownership

Lectures, workbooks, templates, and spreadsheets are mine. You may use them for your own business and your own operation, including the budget and planning templates. You may not resell them, republish them, or teach them as your own course without asking me first. Your assignments and your business plans stay yours.

What this course is not

This is education, not legal, financial, tax, or permitting advice for your specific operation. Regulations change and vary by state and county. Verify current rules with your own agencies and professionals before you spend money or sign anything. Any numbers in the templates are planning benchmarks, not a promise of what your farm will earn.

College courses

Courses taken for credit through Santa Monica College or MiraCosta College follow that college's own enrollment, grading, and refund policies, which take priority over this page.
